Ball and U-Boat to exhibit at Irish trade show
The stainless steel Classico watches are likely the best selling U-Boats. They capture the essence of the company’s popular design with the fearless military-inspired layout, wide dial, and a metal plate affixed to the strap. One characteristic that stands out to me personally is your crown. The screw-down protective crown molding functions well and looks fantastic, but the actual crown itself is much more impressive. It’s quite large and easy to deal with. A hardy and critical click is felt when going through the crown of the three positions. Last, the crown feels like rock solid in the third (date) position as it does when tucked into its first (twisting) position. The newly redesigned straps are fantastic. They are now all hand made in Italy using a wide assortment of materials. The strap advantages from a ‘deployant’ folding clasp, which demands a lot less effort to use then its pressure locking counterpart. The way a watch feels on and off the wrist is a wonderful sign of quality. Running the crown and crown molding is smooth and solid. It is thick and nicely constructed. I’m confident that any one who picks up a current U-Boat model is going to be convinced of the company’s grip on high-end horology.
